Buying an index fund is one decision. A good share of students are 40 to 57 and either starting over or catching up.

Later means the sequence matters more, not less. Which account, how much, and how the money comes back out all get decided in a shorter window, so getting the order right is worth more.

If your main question is which local tax-advantaged account to use, this isn't the right buy.
